Grab the pen and stab the page
Let the paper bleed in ink Strike again, stain white with black Don't let your mind have time to think Unlock the floodgates to your soul Utter things none else would dare Spill your thoughts and dark desires Let your secrets be laid bare Slowly swirl the pitch-black ink Write a line, a verse, a song Drown out the world and all its noise Slave away the whole night long Drench the page in your emotions Pour out all you can, and then Throw your work into the fire Grab a new page, start again -- So, I said that I wasn't going to copy anything over from my old DeviantART account, but unlike my other work this still gets attention from people there even years after I wrote it, so I couldn't help but be curious what you guys would think. It's one of the only poems I've written, and therefore also one of the only things I've written that isn't sickly sweet. The atoms that make up you and me were born in the hearts of suns many times greater than ours, and in time our atoms will once again reside amongst the stars. Life is but an idle dalliance of the cosmos, frail, and soon forgotten. We have been set adrift in an ocean whose tides we are only beginning to comprehend and with that maturity has come the realization that we are, at least for now, alone. In that loneliness, it falls to us to shine as brightly as the stars from which we came.

This poem is absolutely amazing! :O!
I see a lot of talent in this poem, and I believe I've read another one of your poems back a few days ago. "The Road Ahead" Am I right? Well, I'm really glad that I am reading more of your work, keep it up!

I guess I'll have to write some more, so you can keep inflating my ego.  Nicola: I've got to warn you, everything else I've written is pretty much a pile of sappy love songs, of various saccharine levels. But if you really want to endure that, you can find them all on my deviantart page.
