My poem- Written by an ED sufferer. - May 9th 2013, 11:36 PM

This thread has been labeled as triggering, particularly on the subject of eating disorders, by the original poster or by a Moderator. The contents of this thread might therefore not be suitable for certain sensitive users. Please take this into consideration before continuing to read.

Heey, so I wrote this poem a while ago while I was caught up in the midst of Anorexia. I'm not the best poet but I just thought I'd share this.

This could be triggering to some people.

My sweet Ana

Plead with society,
beg them if you must.
Cry out for acceptance,
If you get none, then adjust.

Change everything about yourself,
change it just for them.
Go crawling back a whole new you
to be criticized again.

So beautiful you were before,
I wish you could have seen.
But you drowned in all those stupid lies,
your mind was far from clean.

So hard it is to love yourself
in this fucked up world.
You are useless and unlovable
if not a skinny girl.

Resist the temptations, look in the mirror.
Don't let those calories in.
What the hell do you think you're doing?
I thought you wanted THIN.

Pride yourself when you make it
through another foodless day.
Hate yourself when you mess up
as we watch you fade away.

So lost, confused and feeling hopeless.
At the mercy of your mind.
Look back at us and think about
the life you left behind.

You wish that you were just like them,
not a worry in their heads.
But instead you cry yourself to sleep
wishing you were dead.

You sit alone on the bathroom floor
overwhelmed by dark.
You family starts to wonder why
your eyes have lost their spark.

You fade away so silently,
setting yourself free.
Oh my dear sweet Ana..

what have you done to me?

Only you have the power to say,
"This is not how my story will end"

Wow, this is really good! Keep up the good work

If clarity's in death, then why won't this die?
Years of tearing down our banners, you and I
Living for the thrill of hitting you where it hurts
Give me back my girlhood, it was mine first

This is really amazing! You did so well! I like the last stanza best but it is all emotion filled.

Do you ever get a little bit tired of life
Like you're not really happy but you don't wanna die
Like you're hanging by a thread but you gotta survive
'Cause you gotta survive
