Some More Moon Works - August 1st 2015, 01:09 PM

The Moon is full. In fact, it's a blue moon!!

The Bear Who Loved The Moon (original folkish song/mythology)

The Moon

I hear her siren call
Blessed silver flowing through the window
The dew forms on each strand of grass
Orbs shining in the night
Shining in the silver light

I walk outside into the night
Bare feet feel the damp grass
Feel the Earth
Feel the connection
Bathed in the unearthly glow
From far above

I open my arms
And my heart
Raise my face to the sky
Call out to my distant love
And hear her speak my name

Dark Shadow

She hides her face from me
Slowly fading away each night
Until there seems nothing left
But the dark shadow

She watches me still
In the darkness and the light
Through the day and the lonely night
When I look up to find her
She is there

She shines down on me
And brightens my way
Leading me through the world
With silver light
She hides her face
Turning from the light of the world
Watching always
In the dark shadow

I love both of them, but the first poem is my favorite. The Blue Moon last night inspired me too, great job. The name of the folk/mythology song you listed reminded me of my favorite children's book I used to read when I was little. It is called Happy Birthday, Moon by Frank Asch. I still even read it to this day when I'm feeling nostalgic.

I loved this stanza:
Quote:
I hear her siren call
Blessed silver flowing through the window
The dew forms on each strand of grass
Orbs shining in the night
Shining in the silver light
in the first one and this one:
Quote:
She watches me still
In the darkness and the light
Through the day and the lonely night
When I look up to find her
She is there
in the second but they're both written beautifully!
