Heart of Chrome - June 21st 2009, 01:15 AM

Inspired by Taylor Swift's "Teardrops on my Guitar". Enjoy =)

Heart of Chrome

Since I was a child, I’ve had a dream that kept my spirits high
A perfect family, married to my prince who would cherish me
But as I’ve been growing up, my precious dream seems to break
As I can’t find this guy on whose side I am supposed to awake

My friends, they say, “Dear, you just frighten all the guys away”,
“Please don’t get us wrong, but, it’s been the case here all along”
Am I to sheath my heart in adamant withstanding chrome
Because at the time it feels as fragile as sandy loam

And if once only I get to know someone I thought can’t be
So polite, so considerate, that I think I’ve finally found my fate
It turns out that this Prince Charming is already disposed to
Some unknown girl I bet she must be just as beautiful too

Is it time for me to leave childhood behind and face this destiny?
This heart of chrome is aching yet still there is no knight for me
I hope that girl knows exactly, at any time, that she is really lucky

My friends, they say, “Dear, guys just are no use nowadays”
“First they act all gentle, then throw away what they can’t handle”
So does God only want to protect me? Of all the hurt and pain?
But if so, what’s to be done with all my love, I’m going insane

Is it time for me to leave childhood behind and face this destiny?
This heart of chrome is aching yet still there is no knight for me
I hope that girl appreciates him and thanks God in every second

So now it’s just me again, me, myself and the memories when
I thought it was possible this prince and I could eventually meet,
And then..

Who knows, he might’ve as well as fallen only for me
Instead of that girl, we could have matched so perfectly
We both craving for love, that’s fulfiling because it’s destined to be
I pray that girl knows his worth, values him at any swerve
And knows she can feel truly blessed

Since I was a child, I’ve had a dream that kept my spirits high…
