She's the prettiest girl you see at school,
you wish that you could be that cool.
She's always got a smile and a laugh,
and does good deeds on others' behalf.

Her life seems perfect, so content,
her car doesn't have a single dent.
She breezes through life with unmatched grace,
Everything just seems to fall into place.

She goes home at night and kisses her mom,
then gets online and talks to her best friend Tom.
They talk about life and friends and work,
and the new substitute at school who's such a jerk.

It's getting late and they say goodbye,
and no one knows that she's about to cry.
Her smiles and laughs are all so fake,
All she really knows is deep heartache.

She locks her door and sits on her bed,
And before you know it, she trickles red.
It's the only way she know how to cope,
because long ago she lost all hope.

The truth is that she chose to hide
all these feelings deep down inside.
So no one knows she's playing a role,
but really just feels out of control.

She hates her life and everything in it,
where not a single thing seems to fit.
She goes to bed to sleep and wakes again,
pastes on a smile on her face so she can do it all again.
