(A memory from my past, turned into a poem, please comment)(sorry if its weird)

I watched over as you smiled
and saw your happy face.

Perched on the cliff were I overlooked our home
I knew you were happy
for I was glad.

But unseen forces were afoot
plotting to take you down.
An evil presence
unknown to the world
it was called
crazy.

And soon that happiness was gone
and the shadow hanged over you
and I swore to myself
to never let it consume
that happiness you share.

With the hours that turned to days
that turned to weeks
and months
countless times I counted down
to when this hell would end.

Victory over it twice, I swore my protection to you
finally the world was peaceful, and I could take a breath.
but the happiness never returned.

That cold night, the snow and the wind blowing rough
a time when we should all be thankful and happy
I held my head down when I saw those 5 words.

Victory was never enough to stop his evil plan.
And you were casted into Shadow, no matter how hard I tried to save you
I failed..
I tried to save your happiness, and I failed.

And now you see a different world, from the one that I see now.
I truely am sorry that I failed to save you
to be there
to protect you from this world.

The night's we battled long and hard, were never enough.
The night's we cried and held on long
held on to the morn
and cried the next day.
The nights I cried and felt worthless, you pulled me up
and in return, I failed to do the same.

I am truly sorry, for not being able to save you
and not being able to be there
I am sorry for everything
I only wish that one day, you can return,
and see the world again.

Awwh, nothing is your fault hun. You can't always be there, you shouldn't blame yourself. The poem was good though
