She dances
Gracefully, people think But her body can’t keep going She has no energy to move She succeeds Perfect score on all her tests She can’t even focus As her brain cells slowly die She laughs Along with her classmates Hoping no one will notice She cries herself to sleep She smiles A fake smile, again Her band aid to cover The pain no one wants to see She is me She is you She is the chic your brother’s dating She is that girl in your biology class She is falling apart She is in great pain She needs to be set free *Random side note--- note that "Perfect" has too definitions 1. without imperfections, flawless 2. needed to be fixed or perfected "Pretty, pretty please, don't you ever, ever feel like you're less than, less than perfect. I didn't know that perfect had two definitions.
I love that you were able to use the word perfect in there. Also, I like that it starts with "She ___" every time. So, the repetition is good.  I was looking for a breath of life For a little touch of heavenly light But all the choirs in my head say, no oh oh |
