The Most Beautiful Place In The World - June 8th 2011, 11:50 PM

There are many beautiful places in this great world. I happen to live in one of the best (or so I think). This thread is dedicated to Sylvie (Angel) to show her a slice of my world.

First, some cows.

A few more cows, in the shade

A classic farmhouse

Backroads crossroads

Open farmland off of State Highway 60

A downward slope, and, barely visible in the far distance, the bluffs (about 15 miles away)

Fuzzy flower

Another winding road with the bluffs just visible in the background

Wildflowers in the woods

Farms, fields and a few ponds (taken from a cliff edge)

The Wisconsin River winding southwesterly through the woods and fields

We will ask nothing. We will demand nothing. We will take.

A few more pictures that refused to upload themselves earlier.

Off the edge of the cliff, with the tiny village of Lodi just out of sight

Same cliff, this time from an outcropping looking back

Fuzzy caterpillar of cuteness

Casey! These are wonderful.
I really like the angles in a lot of them.

You're so good. :]

I was looking for a breath of life
For a little touch of heavenly light
But all the choirs in my head say, no oh oh

The angles? Oh gosh.... I took all of these in one day, and a lot of them were just point-and-shoot.

I posted these partially because some of them really did turn out quite well, and partially because Sylvie wanted to see the world I live in.

Sometimes the best angle is straight on. You know?
And it takes a good eye knowing what to shoot at what angle

This is very true. I use the simple digital enhancement on every one of my pictures, which isn't so much an edit as it is a restoration of the natural color that the camera couldn't capture. That's why you get some of the vividness in the pictures, like the one with the rocks (notice how yellow the lichen is on it).

I love that I recognize those locations. I love the pic off Lee Rd Casey

“I cannot prevent anyone from getting angry, or mad, or frustrated. I can only hope that they’ll turn that anger and frustration and madness into something positive, so that two, three, four, five hundred will step forward, so the gay doctors will come out, the gay lawyers, the gay judges, gay bankers, gay architects … I hope that every professional gay will say ‘enough’, come forward and tell everybody, wear a sign, let the world know. Maybe that will help.” Harvey Milk, 1978
