Non-PG13 (Strong Language): The concept of friendship

To let your door slide open,
To unlock the rusting chain,
To invite others to come in,
To let down all the defenses,
The hardest thing one can do.

The concept of friendship brings me to insanity,
Let in people to have destruction on your pallet.
Sweet smiles masking intentions of Lucifer's side.
Trust people at your own peril, vicious systems.

My anger, brings me down the old roads disappointing everyone,
I cannot face my own reality sober and vulnerable not here now.
I'd rather die than face the consequences of ignoring myself,
My mind screams, fuck this, walk away from every one of them.

I pull myself up, high as a fucking bird, then let myself fall,
Cherishing the hidden pain, the anger at my own failings.
I look at all these friends and I place markers, you next,
You will be the one to decide my worth today, him tomorrow.

I'm done, I've fought so hard to not give up,
The words "I'll miss you" are meaningless lies.
Give up, I know the truth, spare us all please,
Leave me to destroy my own life in peace.

I don't need any help.

I really like this because I can relate. I also like your use of imagery, because it allowed me to fully understand your feelings.
