Rain Day (poem) -

(Tried my hand at meter, which I've never done successfully before.)
April morning, sweet and rainy endless clouds are grey and shady. Looking at your face so gloomy Saying “come on sweetheart, trust me.” Grab your boots and let’s go out there splash in puddles, come on, who cares? Running, laughing, going nowhere Sadness on your eyes I can’t bear. Look out at the pretty daises take a day to just be lazy. Dump your caution, go all crazy! Let your choices all grow hazy. When the fun is over outside Ask yourself to wait and then try, to worry later after bedtime. And whisper "darling, always be mine". |
