Life is Sweet.

Something I wrote for my boyfriend, but I don't like it much...what do you guys think?

Life is sweet.
I have seen many dark days,
Yet life is sweet.
I have cried alone in the darkness many times,
Yet life is sweet.
I begged for someone to find me,
Yet no one ever came.
And still, life is sweet.
I escaped the darkness I was once trapped in,
Yet I was still empty inside.
I begged for someone to love me,
Yet that love never came.
I stumbled along the bumpy road of life, hoping to find true love.
Yet that love never came.
I stopped searching for that love, thinking it hopeless.
Only when I stopped my search was my plea answered.
I begged for acceptance,
And it came.
He took me away from sadness and despair,
Yet pain still tugs at me.
He soothes that pain with his gentle embrace,
Yet scars remain.
He heals those scars with his love,
Yet my insecurities linger.
He erases those insecurities with the touch of his lips against my own,
Yet wounds still bleed.
He bandages those wounds with his love,
Yet past nightmares still haunt me.
He chases those memories away by wrapping me in a blanket of affection.
Life is sweet.

I'm pretty shy with sharing my poetry when I write it, but I gave it to him today and I got a huge hug for it. He told me it was beautiful, and he immediately saved it in a word document on his computer. I was very happy.
