Hey guys, I know I've been MIA for the past couple of days - a friend of the family who is like a grandmother to me has been diagnosed with liver cancer and it's REALLY hard on me. She's the only person I can talk to about my daughter because she's had a stillborn son and she understands. She's truly an Angel to me and I really hope she pulls through (she's been diagnosed with many other illnesses in the past and is very, very old so I'm hoping she's going to be ok).
I wrote a (very short) poem for her. I don't think it's very good but any feedback would be wonderful. Thanks guys. ![]() Cancer. Hurtful word, terrible illness Broken hearts shatter in an instant Upon the horrendous news Cancer. No one wants it for themselves or anyone else Wishes are irrelevant Hopes and prayer become most important Cancer. Love increases, support increases Nothing matters except Cancer's patient Their life is what matters. Her life matters Cancer, Please don't take her from me. ![]()

Britt, this poem is really good.
It shows exactly how you feel, which is kind of the whole point of a poem like this one! I'll be praying for your "grandmother", okay? Text me if you want to talk! Also, listen to this song when you get a chance. It's a really good song about staying strong through cancer -- whether it's your own or someone you love. |
