That would actually stick around I thought you would be with me until the end But I was never found I thought you were my music That would keep me alive during the day I thought I was safe in your fantasy When you got rid of all the grey I thought you would stick up for me Even when times were tough I thought you wouldn’t be a hypocrite Even when you’ve dealt with this situation enough I thought you were a buddy Not a bully or a liar I thought you would at least try To raise my happiness a little higher I thought I was safe Whenever I was in your arms I thought I was your friend Not a broken piece to your good luck charm I thought you would protect me from myself Or things like suicide I thought you would tell me the truth Not get me drunk on lies I thought you wouldn’t judge me Because of how I was born I thought I wouldn’t sink You would bring me to the shore I thought I could be me Whenever I was with you I thought I could be a rainbow That would always be brand new I thought I wouldn’t get in trouble Because of the deep thoughts I had I thought life would get better Instead things turned out bad  I got off track I've made mistakes Back slid my way to that place where souls get lost lines get crossed and the pain won't go away.
