Exclamation (Short) I think I'm losing my mind. Help me, please. - March 5th 2018, 01:02 PM

I've been through a lot of truly disheartening stuff lately and while I would go into it, my main concern is the effects the 'stuff' has been having on me. I find myself introducing myself to myself as other people, and doing this to others. I laugh at the worst type of things and show severe signs of schizophrenia, anxiety, depression and paranoia. I know of a person who takes control of myself and my conscious mind kind of sits back and watches through my eyes like it's some sort of horror movie, never knowing what the monster's going to do next. I try to stay positive and enforce healthy habits into my life, but it's just been becoming too much lately - the voices are starting to have an impact on me; meaning that what I once thought of as 'talking to myself' is now 'answering things that I don't remember asking'. I realize how terribly written and cryptic this all is, but it's the only way I can make sense of it in words. I'm sorry.

No need to apologise! I'm glad that despite all the symptoms you are experiencing, that you did reach out to us anyway!

When we go through difficult stuff, it can affect us, but more so if we are susceptible (previous trauma or mental health difficulties, genetics, support etc), When this happens, we may not feel like ourselves and may experience a wide range of symptoms.

It's more than okay to talk to yourself, even if you find yourself answering questions that you ask yourself. But since you are concerned about the voices and feeling like someone else is controlling you, I'm wondering if you have sought professional help, perhaps from a doctor or psychiatrist? If not, then you may want to think about speaking with a professional, or at the very least, someone in your life that you trust and feel comfortable talking to. This way, you'll get more support and if you speak to a mental health professional you can get a diagnose and treatment plan.

It's good that you are trying to stay positive and keep up with healthy habits, but it's understandable you are going through a lot and it's taking a toll on you. Seeking help will allow you to learn how to take care of your mental health too
