Question Catholic Church's view on oral? - April 25th 2012, 04:14 AM

I'm Catholic and I'm wondering what the Church's view on oral sex it. Luke do they consider it "unnatural" sex and something wrong? If it is done before marriage is it considered premarital sex? Also is premarital sex considered a mortal sin or like a deadly sin?

I'm not Catholic, so I'm not exactly sure what the churches thoughts are on the whole situation. However, I do believe that any kind of sexual act done before marriage would be considered a sin, whether it's a mortal or deadly sin I'm not sure.

I really have no idea. I know in other cultures outside of the USA, oral is considered very unnatural, along with a lot more of older people thinking so as well. I would probably say the Catholic church would consider it just as "bad" as intercourse outside of marriage, and it would have whatever intercourse is as the type of sin.

It quite likely is a 'sin' because it's pleasuring another. Whether or not it'd be okay after marriage is another story.

What I can guarantee is as the social norm exists, the church will change. They simply cannot thrive without fudging the rules, unless they want to lose 90% of the people who go to church.

So while it may be a 'sin' to do and you 'shouldn't' do it before marriage, realistically in enough time the church will deem it okay. As science gets closer to proving that the church is wrong, they'll become more accepting of the social norm.

Don't get me wrong though. I respect what the church does try to approach, which is self-moderation and community communication. I just can't respect a group pushing the idea that something exists without any scientific evidence.

When it comes to social morals and such the church are generally really good with it, but even church people have bad eggs. But that's a whole different thing and i'm digressing into my thoughts now so I apologize lol.

Basically to put it short: Many people who are religious have broken rules but they usually do it in moderation. So do what you feel is right for you.

I've seen just as many religious people turn corrupt (even in non-religious expectations) just because of doing a small 'sin' which most people consider normal. What happens? They think their entire life is over and wreak havoc on themselves or others.

But again that's a different story for a different time. Hopefully you've managed to find some sort of help in this wall of ASCII
