You're still young even if you've had your period for three years. It's ok for your period to be irregular. Some people have very regular and some can be every 3 or two months, maybe even longer. Because you're still going through puberty your hormones are all over the place, so I wouldn't worry about it.

But if you are still worried talk to your Mom about it or ask your doctor.

Hope I was of some help.

Some Riot - Elbow

A friend of mine grows his very own brambles
They twist all around him 'til he can't move
Beautiful, quivering, chivalrous shambles
What is my friend trying to prove?

...I think when he's drinking he's drowning some riot
What is my friend trying to hide?

...And it's breaking my heart to pour like the rain
Brother of mine, don't run with those fuckers
When will my friend start singing again?

You may just have really wierd periods. All the ladies in my best friend's family (including herself) have VERY irregular periods. Like they could go 2 or 3 months without anything, but there's nothing wrong with them. You could ask your doctor or your mom certainly.

Sometimes a person's period is irregular which could cause this. Sometimes things like stress or a change in diet or exercise can trigger a change in your menstrual cycle. BUT, to rule out it being caused by anything else, it probably would be a good idea to give your doctor a call, just to be on the safe side.
