i need help. i lost my virginity last summer at a CHURCH CAMP. i really want to tell my mom but i dont know how. it feels like a huge wight crushing me each time i talk to her, and its getting worse. if i tell her i could lose all of her trust and my life would be over she would for sure tell my step dad and he would be very mad.

Would you be safe telling your parents that you lost your virginity? You said your step dad would be mad but would he 1) kick you out of the house or 2) hit you? If it would not be safe to tell your parents then I suggest that you wait until you are out of their care to confide in them about this.

However, if they wouldn't hit you or kick you out and would simply yell or ground you for a while then I think telling them could be good. It sounds like it's really weighing on you and confiding in them, while not necessary, might help you feel better.

I agree with the person above, you dont wanna tell ur parents exactly where u did it. But I suggest u start out with a mature convo at the livin room or somthin be like
"hey mom I have somthin to get off my chest. I lost my virginity and its crushing me not tellin you guys. I know you are goin to be mad, and I guess I deserve what ever punishment I get. But I just wanted to let you know"
but expect some reactions like frustration and groundation. but at least u get it off ur chest

Hope it works out well, PM is open

As Jenna has said, if you won't be safe when you tell them I highly recommend waiting. Also, I was very young when I lost my virginity (mine wasn't by choice unfortunately) and I wasn't able to tell my parents, not because I didn't feel safe, but because I was so young. I see that you're only 12 years old, so I highly recommend you think about this carefully.

Considering yoir parents sent you to a church camp, they might not be too pleased to hear that you lost your virginity at 12. I would wait, if you have a close friend then tell them. If not, I would tell poeple online about it (like this site). The thing is, religous parents are not always super accepting about this stuff, especially at age 12 and it might create some serious tension and distrust. You know your parents best though.

Re: I NEED HELP - January 3rd 2017, 05:47 AM

first i would say to ask yourself, why do you really feel the need to tell them?
when i was 12 i was under the impression that i had to tell my parents everything, but as i grew older i realized that sometimes that's really not the best thing to do. and sometimes it's okay to keep things to yourself.

if you regret it or feel bad about losing your virginity and that's all you want to talk about with them, you can always come here for support. (:
there are other options.
