Is missing ur period bad? -
October 15th 2017, 10:13 PM
I have been starving myself for over a month now and I have noticed that I have missed my period. It is 19 days late. I would have been my fourth one so I'm not sure if it is normal once you first start or if it is linked to my eating
Any help/advice is appreciated, Thanks xx

Missing a period can be linked to unhealthy eating habits such as starving yourself. However, it also isn't uncommon for younger girls and teens to have irregular periods for a time. I would suggest that you talk to your doctor about it and let them know that you are struggling with eating as well. The more that they know about what is going on with you the better able they will be able to help you figure out what is going on with your period.

Hello and welcome to teenhelp, we are glad that you have joined. You also did a great job saying what is going on with you.
I am sorry that you are having a hard time with this right now.
You don't want to be missing you're periods no matter what is going on. And you are also young to have that happen to you. Can you try talking to the school counselor or you're parents or the school nurse and let them know about this and that you are having a hard time with food and this too. You need to tell someone about this so that you're parents can take you to the doctor to get checked out. You can say that you are having a hard time with food and now you are missing you're periods and you need help.
If it's too hard to say, then you can always write them a letter. And they can read that and then help you.
I hope that you will be ok and you can always post more when you need to. Hugs.

if you tell your parents, (assuming they don't already know, parents have a way of knowing their children very well, they may already know), if you tell them, they may want to know what should they do about it. if you have that answer for them, it will make it easier.
