Condom issues - May 18th 2019, 02:38 PM

Yesterday I had sex for the first time in a while, twice. Both times we used a condom; however, both times the condom came off during intercourse. He would eventually pull out to stop and the condom had come off and was stuck inside me. We actually had to fish around to get it out both times.

These were two separate condoms and the same brand I’ve used for years without issue (this has happened to me once or twice before, but it was with other brands). I was definitely wet enough. With this person it was okay because they’ve tested negative recently but I’m worried about continuing to engage in casual sex with others and having this problem come up again. I can’t have the condom keep coming off. Is there anything I can do to prevent this from happening more in the future?

Well, with this, the first thing that comes to mind: does it fit? I've never been sexually active and have only seen condom dispensers, but never an actual condom; I would imagine they come in different sizes. Just a thought I had.

I thought similar to the above. From what you've described, it sounds like the condom is too big.

This has happened to me in the past. The reason being the condom did not fit the penis and would come loose during sex. Try different brands or types of condoms, that might work better. If the condom bunches up at the bottom, it usually ends up falling out during sex. You could also try those condoms that are marketed as 'snug fit'. Never personally used one, but I have heard they work.

Good luck!

I agree, if this hasn't happened before, I would assume it just doesn't fit the guys peen. If you have sex with him again, perhaps try a smaller condom?

I had this happen once or twice with my partner though and it was because the sex was particularly vigorous at an angle that just sort of rubbed it off, so that's worth keeping in mind just in case.

Are you using some sort of wide-fit Trojan Magnum type condom? They are wider and may be too big.

Also I would suggest maybe using some sort of water-based lube. This may eliminate any friction and possibly prevent sliding. You can use it to lubricate the condom itself and also the inside and around the vagina itself.

Hope this helps!

Use lubricant gently, and condom size matters
