I'm just curious as to the opinions of the guys here on it. Some guys I know find the concept weird, and some find it crazily hot. No one I've talked to seems to find it normal...
And if a girl you know told you that she masturbated every day, would you be turned on or freaked out, or just accept it as a fact..??

I think that it's a common misconception that girls just don't masturbate, but knowing what I've heard both from talking to my friends and people posting on this site, I think it's pretty normal. I can't say I don't still think it's a bit hot to think about, but I don't see it is abnormal or anything at all. It's just that most girls are shamed into hiding it, whereas a lot of guys have no problem admitting they do it. Stupid sexism and gender stereotyping -__-

I'm not a guy, but I tend to discuss masturbation with my guy friends and leave my female ones out of it - not because I have an issue talking about it but because most of them have issues accepting it or at least treating it as a normal function... yay for reinforcing gender stereotypes.

I've had a couple guy friends find it absolutely wack that I masturbate (on average) more than once a day, one or two of them find it hot and I'd say one or two who have found it to be completely normal. It was, in fact, one of my guy friends that helped me stop being so ashamed of masturbating in the first place. So I guess my friends sorta even out the scoreboard.

Depends how old. Older than 15, as many times a day is fine. I just feel that if you're like 13/14, you could do it a couple times a week, but more than that is just odd. Just my opinion.

Most of my friends are girls and they seem to be fine with dicussing it. Ha, I doubt any sterotype gets them.

I know that the majority of women masturbate these days because I like to look up random facts It's pretty normal for a woman to masturbate as well as it's normal for a guy to masturbate. So if a woman told me that she masturbates, I'd kind of question her intentions of telling me said information. To me, if a woman told me that she masturbates (whatever started THAT conversation), then she'd basically be indirectly showing me her tits...indirectly inviting me to have sex with her. I don't necessarily consider it a "turn on", but I consider it more of a "come on". Since she's openly admitting that she masturbates, then she's either really weird for telling me (thus freaky in bed...which, in a way, is a turn on), or she likes me sexually (thus potentially freaky in bed). So I guess it's both a "come on" AND a "turn on". To me, you really can't say something like that without a sexual invitation, so if a woman was to tell me information like that and NOT be sexually interested in me, I'd consider the information irrelevant and I'd actually be kind of pissed off. But that's mostly because I've never heard, in real life, a woman saying that she masturbates in casual conversation.

Yeah, this is the only reason I feel weird about letting people know that I personally do it. Like to me it's just normal, and my guy friends talk about masturbation all the time (well..not ALL the time, but it's a fairly accepted topic of conversation among us ) and I would have no problem talking about it except for being scared that guys would think I was trying to be filthy and whoreish and trying to get them into bed. :/

I went through a phase where I was friends to about 80% guys and 20% girls. All of my guy friends never found it weird and we would just openly talk about it. I don't really see how someone could find it weird then again, I'm not a guy... so

Let's see, I don't masturbate but I don't find anything wrong with it. In a way I think if a person masturbates they are comfortable with themselves and their bodies and the concept of sex and I feel that is a really good thing.

The main reason I don't masturbate now is because it really does not do anything for me. However, in the past I did not do it because it was a concept that was uncomfortable. I was so uncomfortable with the idea of sex that I would never do anything pertaining to it. Now, I am not as uncomfortable with the idea/talk of sex so masturbation is not that big of a deal.

So, in a way, I think masturbation for everyone is a good thing because we all have to be comfortable with ourselves and come to know ourselves fully. And, masturbation can help with that.

Well I'm not a guy but I've had this convo with my bf a few times and when he finally dragged the fact out of me that I masturbate on average 2-4 times a day he thought that it was pretty hot but from what he's heard more than the average female.

Soo I know this is kinda late.
But I think that female masturbation should be just as accepted as male masturbation. As a guy, I still don't find this offensive at all. It's just a normal thing in life, and girls shouldn't have to hide it for the sake of guys!!
