Shaving Male Pubic Hair - March 20th 2010, 06:11 AM

I've been trying to shave for like a week, but my genital regions keeps getting teared up by the razor.

I take a shower, dry, add plenty of shaving cream, and shave. I still get so many nicks.

What am I doing wrong, or what can I do?

Hey.

Have you tried using scissors to trim the hair down first?? Also, makse sure you shave in the same direction that the hair is growing - don't shave against like you would on your face. Also, make sure that you have a fresh clean blade in your razor - that should help

As the above poster said, but also try shaving in the shower? I find it works quite well, I use shampoo or conditioner instead of shaving foam though.

yep, that was good advice. Cutting the hair short first, shaving towards to the direction of growth, and doing it in the shower... (accidentally wrote 'whores' instead of shower there somehow....not the most convenient typo ever!!) also, soaking your skin in warm water first can help open up the pores which makes it easier to shave.

trimming it first always the way to go, on a side-note I actually squirmed when I read that first post lol

try shaving in the shower, moisturise first and then add shaving gel on. trim the longest hairs first. after you finish, swill off the area with warm water and moisturise again. This works for me, never once had a in grown hair or anything

OKay i actually have a question to add to this. I have done this before with only one problem. I had the hardest time getting the hair(and i apologize for the choice of words, idk the professional terms) in between my legs and my ball sack. Do i need to worry about those? Also the ones that grow on my ballsack and at the base of my penis.

Just be careful?

The problem I was having was that I was shaving against the grain, which tore up my skin.

Still now, shaving the right way, it's still leaving a little hair. I have no idea how to cut it, and anything I try just makes my skin red and agitated.

Try waxing it. its faster and doesnt tear up your skin. and you get everything. and it doesnt grow back that fast. it hurts the first time but after that it doesnt hurt no more. its worth it

It's difficult to get every last hair. I can't do it, that's for sure! I wouldn't worry too much about it, having a little bit of hair left is good for catching pheromones! lol
