Personally, I don't do that. And I don't know anyone who does. But different people like different things. If you speak to her about it again, maybe you could mention to her that using a marker might be a bit dangerous unhealthy. If she's going to do that she should use a proper sex toy, and a condom over it.

It might hurt, yes. But different people like different things. There's nothing wrong with what she's doing. Using the marker is strange, but stimulating the anus isn't wrong.

I've done it on a couple of occasions. I prefer to do that kind of activity with a partner rather than just myself, but I have done it solo. I used an old make-up brush, actually. It feels rather pleasurable, actually. Assuming someone doesn't think it is dirty, they are often afraid it will hurt a lot. The truth is that if you prep yourself well enough by taking your time and using lube if needed it doesn't hurt at all.

If she is not cleaning it properly beforehand (or after for that matter) and has a tear inside her rectum then it is possible. Most likely she won't though. If she's not cleaning it its just kind of unhygienic, that is all.

I'm assuming the marker pen isn't being put in on the marker tip side? As in the plastic cover of the pen. In which case, I dont think it's particularly more dangerous than a toy, particularly if she's using lube.

I think more people have probably at least tried putting fingers/things in their bottom then people would guess, because I don't think friends will usually admit this to each other. It has a lot of stigma around it.
