2 Questions: Cervix/Vagina Anatomy & Fingering -

I've read that it's 3-4 inches or the length of your middle finger. Which kinda worries me because I'm still a virgin and my bf is about 7 inches big... Does that mean he wouldn't completely fit or does the cervix stretch when aroused? Apparently if you're hitting the cervix either with fingers or your partner's penis, it really hurts?
![]() (ps. I've also noticed that fingering hurts me sometimes. On the first go when I'm super aroused it's ok... But when he's already up for more rounds and I'm either not ready yet, it starts to hurt when he gets too rough or deep. Especially when he rubs my inner walls with more pressure... Is it because he's hitting my cervix?) |

Hey there,
The cervix is actually deep inside the vagina, right before the uterus. It's possible that he might be hitting it, but doubtful. That's why it's okay to have sex during pregnancy, because the cervix keeps things away from the baby. You are confusing the cervix with the vagina. When you find that it's hurting you doing fore play, it's because your not exactly aroused. Try lube to help; it will make it less painful. When you are aroused, the vagina gets 'wet' which is our own natural form of lubrication. When you start to have sex, it will hurt some. I can't say that for certain since every body and everyone's first times are different. Like I mentioned above, it's not the cervix that your boyfriend is entering, it's your vagina. It does stretch, obviously, since the penis has to get in there, which is what causes some pain. No worries, your boyfriends penis won't come near your cervix. |

@Shannon: Oh no sorry I wasn't being clear lol
I'm not confusing the vagina with the cervix. I'm pretty much asking how deep within the vagina is the cervix? Me hearing that it's only 3-4 inches in or the length of your middle finger so I was wondering if my bf's finger was touching it when he's fingering me too hard (that's why the pain). Or does it move further up so that he can't reach? I'm kinda asking for future reference too when I have intercourse since he's bigger than the supposed 3-4 inches lol if that's the case I hope he wouldn't be hitting my cervix when thrusting deeply to make sex painful. I do lube up naturally so like I said it's all good the first time. But the rounds after that I guess are too soon or he doesn't spend as much time getting me ready so I don't produce enough lubrication? Because about the 2nd-3rd time he goes again soon after it starts to feel pain/sore~ Thank you for your information though! |

The cervix is at the very end of your vaginal canal. Here's a little diagram.
![]() The vagina can expand and lengthen to accommodate a penis during intercourse. Just remember, don't attempt penetration when you aren't aroused. Other than that, don't worry too much about the technicalities of sex! If the friction feels uncomfortable, try using a lubricant. You might be a little dry, he might be a little too rough... but I doubt that the pain is caused by cervix-bumping if he's only applying pressure to the walls of your vagina. |

When the vagina is collapsed or relaxed, it is about three inches in length, but during sexual arousal the vaginal canal stretches and lengthens to accommodate the penis.
It's unlikely that he is hitting your cervix when he is fingering you. The cervix is very solid, like a wall, and so he'd know if he was hitting it. It can be painful when anything hits the cervix, be it a penis or something else; that's a very sensitive part of the anatomy. It's natural for you to feel sore after you've been fingered for a while, so I wouldn't worry about that. If you want to keep going just use store bought lube instead. We are YOUNG
