a few important questions bout the pill and pregnacy!

Well I need help asap I'm going to get on the pill in three day! Well I told my mother that it was for my periods because there so off and it really is but I'm also very sexually active and I was wondering what all do they do or u have to do before they put u on birth control?!? I mean my real this is that I've been having unprotected sex but pullin out! But my period I don't kno if its a period or spotting move this if it needs to be my main thing is when they do the ezam do they usually pregnacy test u?!?

Hey Alexis,
You don't have to do anything before being put on the pill, but it's recommended that you use a condom, or some other form of contraception while taking the pill for the first month, since it's not effective until the following month.
It's also recommended that you take a pregnancy test before. They usually do a blood test, but that's to check for STD's, not for pregnancy. If you are low on cash, I would buy a pregnancy test from a dollar store, as they're just as effective as name brand ones. You can also call ahead to the place you are being taken to check whether or not they do a pregnancy test.

They don't require you to take a pregnancy test before you go on birth control, but you should tell them that you've been having unprotected sex while pulling out. Ask for a pregnancy test.
Whoever is prescribing you the pill will tell you everything that you need to know. It's also a good idea to write down any questions you have beforehand and ask them once you get there.
