Is there a difference between cumming and an 'orgasm'..? - August 12th 2011, 03:04 AM

Hi guys..

This is legitimately a serious question that I've harbored for ages and just never got around to asking..

I'm a 15 year old male and I was wondering if during masturbation there is a difference between cumming and an orgasm? Is cumming an orgasm, a form of one, or what? I have no idea what an orgasm actually is..

Could someone please explain this ordeal to me?

It is the same thing, when you orgasm, you cum. So therefore a lot of people just say I am cumming rather than say I am orgasming. It really just kind of rolls off the tongue better.

It really depends. People use the two words interchangeably but I define cumming as ejaculation. Some people can orgasm without ejaculating so it holds different meanings for me.

I've always thought of the two as the same thing, but now that I think about it, what Angel said makes more sense.

It's not the same thing!

A guy can cum without properly orgasming just as he can reach orgasm without ejaculating. It's the same with women with the whole squirting thing I've spoken many times with my boyfriend about this (and looked it up online [from reliable websites] multiple times), just not many guys bother to try and achieve full orgasm as they think that's it, but believe me there is a hell of a difference, I can tell just by watching my guy. Admittedly a full on orgasm is nearly always accompanied by cumming but it doesn't have to be

To the above poster, not all woman can squirt. I can't, and never have tried to achieve this. I find it to be a little weird.

There is a difference, as others have said. When I orgasm, I just say I'm cumming since it sounds a lot better than saying 'OMG, I'm orgasming". It just doesn't sound right.

I've said "I'm coming" in bed before. That is the equivalent to an orgasm at least in my book, but not = to "I'm cumming."

I never said all women do, I just used it as an example. Please point out to me where I said all women as I can't find it :L

to be truthful..i've asked this same question a million times in my head! lol..i always saw some women say they would cum and then do whatever they're doing until they've reached an orgasm..and i would get confused because i thought they bth were the same. But see, i found that it doesn't matter which is which and what is what...as long as it feels good its worth it!
