Quick Impant Questions (UK based) -

Hi,
Basically I want the implant fitted before I go to university since my pills run out around that time and it'll take a while to sort doctor stuff out up there so it'd be easier to get an implant. I went to my doctors today but the earliest they can do it is the 12th which is a problem since I leave for Scotland on the 8th.... So I need to know do family planning clinics fit implants? I think they do but I just want to make sure. Also, what does it feel like when they're putting it in?  |

When I got mine done they numbed the area with anaesthetic and then they used a needle to put it into my arm so I didn't actually feel it at all. It bruises and hurts for a little while after you get it done but that's pretty much it. It isn't that bad.
I had a quick google of your other question and found this site. It says that some family planning clinics may do it so I think it'd be worth checking with the one you intend on going to to find out if they do. |

I did look at the website for the ones in Nottighamshire and it said that they do LARCs so I assume the implant goes into that section but I just really want to be certain.
