Kissing -
August 23rd 2011, 10:04 PM
This may sound really strange but I don't like kissing :| I find it strange. When you think about it there is no reason why people do it. I find it icky in a way, especially french kissing :| I just think someone else's tongue in my mouth is disgusting. I suppose sex is kind of icky too but at least there's a purpose to it and it feels good, kissing doesn't. Also, think of the amount of germs you'll pass on?
It's not just that I've kissed bad kissers (I don't even know how someone could be a good kisser ) I've kissed 5 people (2 girls and 3 guys) in my life and I've found it all to be gross.I don't want to offend anyone, this is just my opinion I'm just wondering if anyone else feels the same way. ![]() |

I can totally get why you feel like that because if you think about it in detail like that it sounds kind of gross! I do really like kissing though, it feels really natural to me. Have you had a long term girlfriend/boyfriend? Maybe it's just that you haven't had passionate enough feelings for them, or that it just hasn't felt right? There's nothing wrong with not likeing kissing, some people do, some people don't! As you said, it has no purpose so it's not essential or needed
I've kissed a fair amount of people, and some of them have put me off kissing because it was disgusting! But then I've really enjoyed a lot of them, so it does vary. It depends on my mood too. If I'm feeling vulnerable and withdrawn I'd hate anyone to be that close to me. All this talk of kissing is making me want to go and kiss someone

I've definitely felt the way you do. I've kissed plenty of people (
) and I still tend to find it icky Like, I'm a science dork and I know all the germs and stuff and I just find it so gross! I thought I was the only one. I'm glad I'm not

I too have often wondered what purpose kissing serves.
Apparently people get turned on by it, my boyfriend for example. I, however, don't. It's a bit... slimy. ![]() In short, it seems that you're not the only one.

I like kissing, as long as the person knows what they're doing. I've made out with 3 guys, and only one was pretty decent, and he was foreign. Both the girls I've made out with though were really good at it, even though I was both of their first girlkiss.
“I cannot prevent anyone from getting angry, or mad, or frustrated. I can only hope that they’ll turn that anger and frustration and madness into something positive, so that two, three, four, five hundred will step forward, so the gay doctors will come out, the gay lawyers, the gay judges, gay bankers, gay architects … I hope that every professional gay will say ‘enough’, come forward and tell everybody, wear a sign, let the world know. Maybe that will help.” Harvey Milk, 1978

I don't know, it just makes me feel good. If it didn't I wouldn't do it.
I don't find it gross, except maybe conceptually. But when I'm kissing the right person, damn! |

I only really enjoy kissing when it's someone I really like and am attracted to!
If it's just a random hook up, or if the moment isn't right, kissing really doesn't do anything for me at all. I've never really found it gross, it can just feel a bit awkward or pointless sometimes haha. But as Maeve just said, if it's someone I'm into then it's amazinggg, I would kiss them all day hehe "He who does not weep, does not see" - Victor Hugo, Les Miserables.

I understand your point of view with kissing, but I love it! Kissing is a way for me to show my boyfriend affection. It's not always the best way to show affection, but when I don't feel like TELLING him, I just lean over and kiss him. Kissing isn't always just french kissing (with tongue). I don't do it unless I'm having sex or about to have sex. Just a quick peck on the lips here and there is all I need.

Of course when you think about it like that kissing really is gross
Maybe you just haven't kissed someone that you've really cared about, or even been attracted to?? When I'm in love it seems like I almost can't stop kissing that person, I don't even think about it. There's absolutely nothing wrong with not being a fan of kissing!! But maybe when you find the right person to kiss you'll change your mind.

Thank God I'm not the only one
The longest relationship I've had was 4 months, I wasn't "in love" with him but I cared about him a lot, even kissing him felt gross :/ I don't mind a little peck here and there but don't like french kissing at all ![]() So, basically I'd like to have sex without kissing lol. ![]() |

I feel I should point out that I think French kissing (i.e. with tongues) is slimy. Not regular kisses on the lips. I quite like those.

I do it purely because it's expected, and not doing it would feel weird. I don't hate the feeling, but I don't particularly enjoy it either. It's just kind of meh. I'd rather bite.

Just say I did have a relationship soon (I doubt it but, eh) would it sound odd if I said I didn't like kissing?
I only really kissed my exes because they wanted to.

To be honest, it might sound a bit odd to them, since (as Acheron pointed out) kissing is kinda expected in a relationship.
Plus, they may take it personally (because people are stupid like that ).But then again, I don't see why you should have to do something you're not comfortable with. ![]() |

Im not sure but they might find it odd to be honest, I'd never heard of people not liking kissing before... I love it
The only time kissing is bad is when the other person is truly awful, I mean this one guy literally slobbered all over me and it was disgusting... but when you get it right, kissing is fab!

I love kissing. It's one of the best ways to feel close to someone, in my opinion.
but I can see how some people wouldn't like it. When I was younger, I had a huuuuge spit phobia--like it was BAD. And so I thought I'd never ever kiss anyone. I still have the spit phobia to a degree but I adore kissing.
"Once a little boy sent me a charming card with a little drawing on it. I loved it. I sent him a card and I drew a picture of a Wild Thing on it. I wrote, “Dear Jim: I loved your card.” Then I got a letter back from his mother and she said, “Jim loved your card so much he ate it.” That to me was one of the highest compliments I’ve ever received. He didn’t care that it was an original Maurice Sendak drawing or anything. He saw it, he loved it, he ate it." |

I have a saliva phobia. I literally start gagging if I even think about saliva! So yeah I get why you might think kissing is gross
Oddly though, I love kissing! As long as I don't think about it, kissing is fun and a total turn on for me I'm not all that fond of French kissing though, that is a bit much, although sometimes a bit of tongue is okay...

I love kissing..
Not just making out or anything like that, but randomly just kissing my boyfriend makes me happy (: It's a way to show affection between two people without it having to be sexual or anything (well.. some types of kissing at least).. To me, a peck on the lips is the same idea of holding hands, it's to remind them that you care and you're happy (: "yes maddie you are way better than "that great" you are amazing and sweet and i love you so much" <3
