Bleeding on Pill

Im on the pill and have been for over 3 years now. I went away and continued to take it onto a new pack so i didnt have a period while away, my doctor had said this was fine before went went away 2 years ago and that was the only other time ive done it and it was fine. But this time, I came back on august 13th, and stopped taking my pill and everything was fine, but the other day i missed a pill, just one, and then that day i started to bleed again, though this time the blood was black as if i was just finishing a period. Then it turned red and now it's black again - though i continued to take my pill the day after i missed and havent missed one since. I'm not sure why, whether it is because i continued my pill but i'm not sure.

I get brownish blood sometimes, like you said with the black blood it goes on, off, on. It can get annoying. I was told the hormones in the pills cause you to miss your period and if you miss a pill or two, you don't have as much hormones in your body. Your uterus still sheds sometime but not a lot, so that dark blood is just old blood sitting in your uterus. As weird as it sounds. I was told this by my doctor, but I am not a doctor... So I can't tell you that it's the same thing that is happening to you, but it is possible.
