There may have been a thread like this before, but I don't remember seeing one. Purely for curiosity purposes, what age did you start girlies?? I was thirteen.

According to my textbook, girls are starting their periods as early as 9 these days.

 It started in the holidays before I started big school.... I can remember not telling my Mum until like six months later though

I started mine when I was 11, and realized it after softball practice.
I know a girl who started her period at age 8. Her mother had to have some sort of injection when she was pregnant with her which caused her to develop quicker than most girls. She started wearing bra's at 9, as well. I was 12 and I remember coming home and using the bathroom and seeing the blood stains in my underwear. Somehow instead of instantly thinking it was my period I thought I had some type of disease causing me to bleed internally.

I was in year 7 so I was 12. It was at the weekend though so I didn't get it while in school which helped.

I started really late compared to all of my friends.

I had just turned 12. Freaked me out.

I believe I was twelve because it was the summer before seventh grade.
I remember being with my best friend, and she asked if I wanted to spend the night, and all of a sudden I got really angry and just screamed at her and then started crying. So my parents took me home because my friend and i obviously weren't having fun anymore. So I went to the bathroom, and realized that I had started my period, and then it made a lot of sense why I was so emotionally are irittable. :P I might be crazy. But have I told you lately that I love you? You're the only reason that I'm not afraid to fly. <3 |

I was 11. I was wearing red pants, thank god, because it happened in the school library and that first period was SO heavy that I bled through my pants almost instantly. I clogged up my underwear with toilet paper and snuck out of the school - I could NOT tell my teacher ;P - took a bus home where I threw out the pants and called my mum.
The worst part was that it had stained the library carpeting (I was sitting on the floor) so the librarian hated me after that... |

I was 11 and a half because I got it 2 days before Christmas while I was with my DAD ugh and then turned 12 in May. I hid it for 2 days and told my mom when I got home Christmas day. I've actually gotten it while I was with him more often than not. He HATES it, but what can you do? It was irregular until last year so I never knew when it was coming (or not coming).

I was 11 and on holiday in England. I was in the shower and my Mum came in and found my PJ pants all bloody. Not a pleasant experience.

i was 12, and thank goodness i got it in the the school holiday, it was in year six about to start high school.
we were visitting cousins and family for the holidays so i told mum as soon as i noticed... i was so angery coz it was boilling hot and i was planning on swinning in the pool all holidays

Actually yeah, I was lucky enough to get it during half term, lucky I wasn't in school that day!! Mine were regular from the start. I only ever missed one in my life, (apart from planning to miss it via the pill) when I was nearly fourteen. I was always exactllllly 28 days apart.

12, while i was away on holiday with my family. We were out at a restaurant for dinner one night and I went to loo and had red stuff in my underwear. Ignored it and then it got heavy overnight and I woke up i had bled through to my PJ bottoms...lovely.. Freaked me right out!

 Last week  I'm 17, 18 in December. It's fair to say I was a bit like :HALLE-EFFING-LLUYA Until it became a chore :/ I was at home, just woke up with tummy pains and ignored them and I go to the bathroom... oh!

I was 14, same age as my mum and sister. My best friend started when she was 14 but she's 4 months older then me so I got a lot of advice from her, it was great being able to talk to her about it
 I remember my dad telling me that earlier on during the day I started he was wondering when I was going to start :P I started during school but it was REALLY light so I hadn't noticed til I got home at 5...  "When you are in Love you can't fall asleep because reality is better than your dreams." |

I was 16 so I started later than most... I just remember being extremely uncomfortable but luckily at the time I had a friend who was always really open about that kinda stuff so I went to her and she helped me out.

I was about 12 when I first got one, of course they were irregular at first because I was so young and not very heavy bleeding, but yup about 12...I don't feel so alone because I noticed on the poll that age is the most high-rated one. lol

I started mine when I was 13. I woke up in the middle of the night went to the bathroom and found out that way. But my aunt who I live with started when she was 8. It scared her so much because in the 50's and 60's when she was 8, they didn't teach 8 year olds about your period so she thought she was bleeding to death and told her grandma who told her what it was.
