Re: Super heavy period + concert ?? - September 27th 2011, 02:22 AM

On June 4th of this year, I went to an all day concert with a friend, and of course, I had gotten my period the night before. Since I wear tampons, I just wore a pad as well in case I didn't get a chance to change it right away.

Tampons are fairly easy to use, and they come with instructions. I can't tell you how to use it here, but there are instructional videos on YouTube as well. If you want to wear tampons, which would likely be your best bet for a concert, I would buy a package and read the directions and try a few out making sure you get the hang out of it. Other than that, wait until the bands you don't want to hear, and use the bathroom then. This is what I did when I needed to use the bathroom at the concert I was at.

I may wear the glass slippers; But my hero wears combat boots <3 I love you, Lieutenant

Tampons are super easy to use and really safe if used correctly. For maximum protection, wear the biggest size tampon you can, a pad, and layer toilet paper between yourself and the pad. I know it feels like a giant diaper but when you get home, you'll be thankful.

I agree with the above posters. Tampons are great for that type of thing & those with pads make it very unlikely for any accidents.

Tampons seem really scary and intimidating, but I promise you they aren't. And they're way more comfortable than a pad. They're are easy step by step instructions in every box.
So you asked what I would do? I would use a tampon and a pad just to be safe. And like Shannon said, go to the bathroom when the bands play that aren't your favorite.
Do not use a higher absorbency tampon than necessary! It is very dangerous and can cause serious health risks!

Don't let ur period get in the way of having fun Good luck and have fun at the concert!!

Tampons are great for this kind of thing. They have little instructions inside to help you, and you can always practise putting them in before you need to use them, just take them out again if you aren't on your period. They're a lot more discrete to carry around if you're so heavy you need to change them
As for pain etc ... if it's painful take some painkillers or buy a stick on heat pack, they can go under your clothes on your belly / back and help relieve period pains.

You can't move mountains by whispering at them.
