The condom broke.

My boyfriend and I did it for the first time yesterday. About 10-15 minutes in, he felt something and pulled out to find the condom had broke. I was a little nervous, but he hadn't came yet and if anything had gotten in it was only precum. We got a new condom and thankfully it didn't break, but I'm still a little bit worried about that first condom breaking. I'm not due for my period for about another 2 weeks. I've read some articles and I know that chances are low, but you can get pregnant from precum. I just want some advice, because I'm a little nervous. I'm not going to get all super afraid and stressed out unless I'm late 2 weeks from now, because I'm almost never late.

I want to get on the pill, but my parents would freak if I told them that. Unlike his parents who really don't care as long as he doesn't get me pregnant, my parents would kill me even though I'm an adult and can make my own choices. They don't even like him sitting next to me in my room. If they knew I had sex with him I'd be dead, so birth control is a no go right now. What happened also makes me a little nervous to have sex with him again, but I don't want us to stop because of what happened. Any advice at all?

I would if I could, but as I said before, I can't get ahold of stuff like that. It's impossible to get through my parents.

Get yourself to a store, call a friend. A teacher will take you. The school nurse. You're 18. Do you have the money? Tell them you're getting groceries? Tell them you're going to a movie and have a friend drive you to a store.

You really need to try to take all precautions. Screw getting in trouble with your parents.

Even if I could get out of the house, my doctor is about an hour's drive away. My friends are all currently at school, work, or college and I can't drive because of a medical condition that I'm on a lot of pills for.

It is unlikely that you are pregnant. If it were me, though, I'd never be willing to take that risk.

Surely, at 18, you dont need to have your parents permission to get on birth control or to get the morning after pill? They dont need to know.

Even at the weekend or an evening, get a friend or a trusted adult to come with you to the doctor and yous can sort something out regarding birth control etc.

Surely your parents would be happier that you are taking precautions to have safe sex than just doing it and not caring about the consequences.

The laws could be different where you live, but where I live if you are over 18 you can check yourself into the health department (it is based on your income and for me everything I do through them is free even though I have a part time job).

At the end of the day, are they going to be more upset if you are pregnant or if you take the proper precautions to PREVENT pregnancy?

I'm going to echo what's been said before: you really should not be taking the risk in light of the fact that there is a very real possibility (however remote) of pregnancy in such circumstances. All it takes is for you to be in that 5% (or, to put it another way, 1 in 20), especially as it only requires one sperm cell to successfully fuse with the egg for pregnancy to occur - and they are by nature quite persistent. Out of incurring the wrath of your parents for using birth control and incurring their wrath for falling pregnant, I'd say the latter is going to be worse and you should use whatever resources are available to you. It's not something best left to chance.

Morning after pill is a very good idea at this point, and it can be taken 72 hours ofter pregnancy, so if you can find a way for your boyfriend to take you after school, do it. Your parents will not be contacted, it's not a presciption, as long as you have the money, you can get it. Be very careful while taking it, do the directions exactly how they say.

When it comes to getting pregnant from this mishap, it's unlikely. I would just keep a very close eye on your period when the time comes. Please, talk to your parents about birth control, since they will be paying for it, you'll need to talk. Say you're having heavy periods. That's what I did, because it was true, but it gives you that backup plan, but always use condoms along with them for STI protection, and make sure you put the condom on exactly with directions as well, because that is the most common reason for breakage.

As far as you may be pregnant, I would get a pregnancy test asap from the gas station or local store.

If all is well (which chances are you aren't pregnant), then I would also still recommend getting on the pill. If you cant for some reason, then maybe you should look into female condoms. Now, I'm not sure if your boyfriends condom plus the female condom (depending on which one you get) would make it more likely to break due to the friction -- however its something to look into. But to be honest, the pill is probably the easiest solution.
