Why do guys get so hesitant about eating/licking a girl out? Well, I am speaking generally here, I know a few guys who rather enjoy doing it. But, a lot of guys aren't a fan? What's the deal?

Some guys just aren't fans of it. I'm a fan of giving my boyfriend blow jobs, but when it comes to receiving oral sex from him, I don't enjoy it. I've just never been a fan of it. I like it from time to time, but not an every day thing.

It could stem from a lot of things from being scared they aren't good at to they just purely don't enjoy oral sex. It really has nothing to do with the girl on the other end.

When I first asked my boyfriend to do it, he got really hesitant about it but then once he eased into and realised how much I was pleased by it he got more confident and now does it often. He then asked me afterwards if it was good and I was dead honest and told him it was the best I have ever had. I think that is what boosted his confidence.

They're afraid they won't be very good. I was always the one that was hesitant, because I was afraid it wouldn't be good, but my boyfriend really wanted to please me so he convinced me to allow him to, and it was great. He's very good at it, and enjoys making me happy. Just depends on the guy. I think most of them are afraid of failing.

As stated above, some guys are hesitant because they're afraid they won't do well, just like some girls are afraid they won't do well with blowjobs. I was actually the hesitant one because I'm a bit self conscious about my body, but my boyfriend wanted to give me oral and I loved it. I think it really depends on the guy and what he's into.

Most of the guys I know have no problem with it, just as a lot of girls don't mind giving oral to guys. Of course, it is ALL personal preference. Some girls don't like giving oral & some guys don't like giving oral. Other people may not like it but do it anyway to please their partner. I really don't think it's a big deal if someone doesn't want to do oral.

I agree with everyone else - I also want to add that we sometimes hear stories from the past: For example i was so scared to eat a girl out because of the stories my Uncle and Dad told me about. My Uncle and Dad both got extremely ill after eating a few girls out.

On another note, some girls also don't take care of themselves down there (Unfortunately). So when other guys hear stories like these, they are sometimes hesitant.

But I agree with the others - the fear of not knowing if we are doing a good job is sometimes a case.

I agree with a point Chris made. A lot of guys I know always tell stories of a girl they've been with who didn't keep very good hygiene. Which wouldn't be pleasant at all. This probably discourages guys from going for it. Vaginas get a really bad rep most of the time.

But sometimes it is just nerves and fear of "not knowing what to do."

That's kind of stupid. How can they know if they don't like it if they haven't tried it?
It's not very "unexplored" when they stick their penises in there.

Why men are reluctant to give oral to women:
1. They're afraid it'll smell/taste unpleasant
2. They're nervous performing a sexual act they haven't done before
3. Sometimes the vagina is made to be something taboo, which is ridiculous
4. Previous bad experience, or hearing them second-hand
5. Some men honestly don't like it

If anyone thinks of any more, I can add it to the list.

It's usually either one of three reasons. Either A) They just don't like it or B) They are afraid of "hygiene issues," which can also be a nice way of saying they are uncomfortable being in such close proximity to a vagina in their face, or C) They are afraid they won't be good at it. Pleasing a girl is, generally speaking (especially at the beginning), much more difficult to do than pleasing a guy through a blow job. Guys are quite proud about being able to get a girl off. Many of them, especially if they aren't assholes, feel bad if they can't, and take it to be a self esteem issues. So they'd rather not do it.

I personally think eating out women is fun; I've only been with a few, but I've always enjoyed it immensely, save for my first time because I was too nervous I didn't know what I was doing. But after I was able to make a girl orgasm from it, and then a second time, and then a third, I felt much more comfortable about eating a woman out. Most guys I know enjoy it, too, and that I am grateful for, because if it's a guy who just plain doesn't like it, we might have a problem.

Eating a female out had always been my sexual fantasy, seeing as no penetration was involved and it gave the girl pleasure. I can say from my personal experience that I don't mind (and sometimes even enjoy) giving oral to a girl, but only if there's little/no hair down there. Hair in the mouth is not a pleasant feeling. I don't really notice any taste from a girl with good hygiene.
