I'm just going to be as honest as possible.
![]() 1. Every body is different, and there are going to be differences with your vagina. One of my labia is longer than the other as well, I'm just going to let you know, it doesn't matter at all in sex. I don't think my boyfriend has ever even noticed. It's really unimportant. Don't ever compare yourself to girls in porn, it's just...it's unrealistic. Everybody is so different, I don't really think it's something guys notice. Your body type, as long as you are healthy, you have nothing to worry about. Every body type is sexy in its own way.2. It 110% depends on the guy, each guy has a different preference. Many of the guys will probably comment on this as well, so you will get an idea, but I don't think it's something they think about a lot. Once again, most porn girls do it. I don't really know why, it sets a standard, but it's something I don't think matters that much. My boyfriend, for one, has never expressed a preference either way. I shave personally out of comfort, it makes things easier to clean. DO NOT SELF WAX. If you are going to wax, have it done professionally, and at your age that is a bit young, so honestly, don't really worry about it. Just continue shaving. I would recommend buying a shaving lotion that works for you, I'm fine using soap, I don't get terrible razor burn, but find a way that works for you. 3. I'm a sexual health educator, and what I know is that washing it out with just water is usually fine. DON'T EVER DOUCHE. Very bad idea, it's not very good for you, and can cause problems and infections if something gets into it. Now, technically, I've heard you're really not supposed to use soap or products. However, I use regular soap myself, and I've never had any irritation, and to point out something funny, I had an allergic reaction to the "Extra Sensitive Vagisil Wash", so honestly, it's preference. You don't need to use soap, your vagina does clean itself out, but if you have a product you like and doesn't irritate you, I don't see why you shouldn't use it. Hope this helps. Welcome to TeenHelp, I hope you feel comfortable, and feel free to message me whenever! |

1) Well I like Traci said, every body is different. Don't sell yourself short! Don't compare yourself to pornos or to sex magazines or anything like that - you are you and no male or female is going to care about one is longer than the other. And thats not forget that at age 14 - things will change by the time you reach 20 - so don't panic to much. Like I said before, don't sell yourself short.
2) Well for me - I prefer no hair, but thats just me. Do men prefer women with or without pubic hair? Study figures showed. 48% said yes get rid of it all 29% said they preferred it natural 16% said they would like to see a little tuft of hair or patch 7% said that they would like the vagina to have more hair than what was considered natural. 3) This website will answer and give you alot of information on Vagina health and best way to keep it clean: http://kidshealth.org/teen/sexual_he...e_hygiene.html I really do recommend looking at the website (although I hate posting web-links - I do think this one is beneficial). I hope that this answered some questions - you can always feel free to ask more if they arrise. Best wishes, Chris Chris Jackson

This is just really a response to your third question, but I use a shower head that comes down (like with a hose). It makes it a lot easier to wash down under.

1. It's normal to feel insecure about parts of your body. But, everyone's lower regions come in different shapes, sizes and colors, just like the rest of our bodies. Unless you do vaginal reconstructive surgery, it's just something you need to get used too (and I don't recommend doing this surgery as I'm not even sure it exists). In any case, a guy that you're intimate with isn't going to be thinking nor care what your lower regions look like. 2. It depends on the guy. Some guys prefer completely shaved, others trimmed while others don't really care either way. My boyfriend prefers me to be completely shaved down under, which is what I prefer too. I can't stand hair of any kind on my body. But, it's all about personal preference. Don't go by what guys say. Go by what YOU think is best for your body. Whichever you choose, the guy you're intimate with is bound to care less. 3. From what my doctor told me a few years back, use a non-perfume soap. I use Dove Sensitive No Scent soap. It comes in a teal-green package, and keeps the skin soft. Stay away from vaginal perfumes, as those could cause irritation or infections (I've had two vaginal bacteria infections due to this, which is why I don't use scented soaps anymore, either). Also, if you have a removable shower head, use it in your lower regions. Make sure you lather up, and then make sure all the soap is gone by doing this, as the above poster said. You could also use shower gels made specific for the lower regions, like Vagisil or Summer's Eve. I used Vagisil, but since it's scented, I switched over to Summer's Eve non-scented female body wash. It works wonders, and I recommend it highly. |
