The answer to this questions depends on the female. Some women have the ability to "accept" larger penises than others. It's kind of a trial-and-error thing. You won't know until you try, I guess.

From what I remember from Human Sexuality class, isn't there quite a distance from the vagina opening to whatever is up there that a long penis could hit, and hurt. And on the thickness issue, aren't vaginas designed to expand?

It can be too long or too thick, either one. While it is true that our vaginas expand, it takes time for a woman's body to become used to the feeling of a man's penis inside her, especially if he's big. For example, I've been active with my boyfriend for almost a month, and I'm finally able to take him more easily, but it's still difficult because he's very thick and long. Depending on the woman and the man's size, it can be easy or difficult and uncomfortable at first.

I'll assume that the "horrid" remark was directed at my post. I apologize for running afoul of the "grammar police." You see, I'm a freshman in high school who is required to speak and write properly every damn day. Forgive me for taking liberties while communicating on what I perceived to be an "informal" site.

Lube would not make the vagina any longer or larger.

And to answer the OP's question- anything over 7 inches would make me very uncomfortable.

The vagina is normally only 7 inches deep so any more than that will hurt the average female if he tries to use it all.
