Their are STD's or Sexually transmitted diseases which are not curable, then there are STI sexually transmitted infections which are curable. The difference between the two are simple, an STD is a virus while the other is a infection which can be treated with antibiotics.

STD's such as; genital herpes, human papillomavirus or aids all remain with you for life, however some viruses go neutral in the body meaning they don't flare up after so many years mainly skin related ones.

STI's such as Gonorrhea, Chlamydiam, Syphilis ect. Are all curable with antibiotics, given you make it to the doctors in a reasonable amount of time.

Its important your mindful of what's out there but don't spend your entire life worrying about it. Go to the doctors and see what they have to say. For all you know its nothing, worst case scenario you do have some sort of infection or daises just follow through with the doctors recommendations and you'll be fine.

I really hope you don't have one, if you do, I hope it is curable.
My piece of advice would to be very honest with doctor. When you lie, it can cause awful things.

Ryan has pretty much summed things up; as he said there are STD's which aren't curable, but with STI's, a lot of them can be cured with simple antibiotics, depending on what the STI is.

The only way to find out for sure is to seek medical attention immediately, and being completely truthful with your OBGYN. They've heard stories just like this before, so there is no reason to be ashamed.
