Female Advice Preferred: Am I average???

Hi Im new here so I hope this is not an old question asked before but it might be...sorry. ANyway I am almost 17. I have gone all the way with only one boy (my last BF) which we broke up last month. Before him I came close with one other boy. we did basicly everything except he never put it inside me ,down there at least. We did oral and stuff but no sex. Anyway that is my experiance so far. Just curious if you think thats about average for my age? If you could share your experiances and your age that would be great so I see where I am . If you only wanna give me your opinion without your own experiance thats cool too. I dont talk to my girl friends about this stuff very much so I am curious about this. Thanks

Sex is not a race to the finish. It is a personal journey that you take at your own pace with someone you love and trust. While there are statistics out there stating the average age of 'loosing it", that doesn't mean that you HAVE to loose it by that age of be considered a freak. The data is spread far and wide as far as sexual experience comes. And it depends more on emotional maturity rather than how long you have spun on this rock. I kn ow of 16 year old that have a mature and safe sex life. And I also know of some 25 year olds that need to be snipped for their own safety :P (j/k)

Personally, I was a late bloomer as far as sex goes. At 17.5 I had my first kiss. At 20, I just barely went to fingering (one-time-event). And finally, at 21, I had sex with a wonderful woman whom I am still with. I think i did pretty well for my sexual journey; but that is for me, not you.

I agree; There is no time line to make it to the "big finish". I was 16 when I encountered intercourse for the first time, but I was 14 when I started any kind of sexual activity. Is it average? I don't know. Everyone begins at different ages, and there is no right or wrong answer.

Gotta agree with the others here. I was 15 when I first had sex, and now I regret it big time. Now that I'm older I think I was too young, and I just wanted to experience it. I'm also a strong believer in only having sex with the one you love. I think sex is a very special and precious thing, and should only be shared with someone special and precious to you.

I don't think there is an 'average' for anything. Everybody is different. I would say you're about right, but someone who'd had no sexual experience would be fine, as would someone who'd slept with 10 guys. Well, that might be pushing it, but you get the idea.

Personally, I'm weeks away from turning 16 and never done more than kissed. I've kissed two guys - one almost a year ago, and one in December. I wasn't in a relationship with either of them at the time (though I went out with the first guy for 4 days haha) and I was drunk for the second, so it got kinda heated, over-the-clothes feeling, but that's all.

In contrast, one of my closest friends is the same age as me and never kissed anyone.

And yet again, another person I used to be close to, my age, first started sexual things like dry humping at 12, oral at 13 and lost her virginity just before 14. Since then she's had about 6 sexual partners (that I know of, probably more) and been pregnant (or so she says) once, and is currently experiencing another pregnancy scare.

So there you go, really, as long as you're happy, there's no need to be sleeping with every guy you come across. We all go at our own paces, and we need to be happy with that

I can't say anything about sex, because I haven't had it. But being 17 and not having intercourse yet isn't weird. When it comes to sex there isn't an "average" like everyone has said, because sex is well, different for anyone.

I actually find it alright that you haven't had sex yet.

my philosphy, is you do what you think is right and ok. dont let other people or society deem what is right and wrong. if its something you want to do and your safe for it, and YOU think its ok go for it. because YOU are the only one that matters
