"Safe" Porn...? - February 3rd 2012, 05:46 PM

This thread has been labeled as non-PG13 by the original poster or by a Moderator. The contents of this thread might therefore not be suitable for younger users. Please take this into consideration before continuing to read.

Alright... soo....

I'm not sure whether this question is even appropriate, but I know people ask about masterbating and watching porn on here and honestly, I'm kind of afraid to watch porn because I don't want my computer to get a virus.

So... I guess my question is... do you know of any porn sites that are generalllly safe....?

PM me if mentioning them on the thread is too inappropriate I guess.

We unfortunately can't tell you any "safe" porn sites (thread or PM regardless). Many websites have to be paid for you, but I use free websites I've found through word of mouth. Why not try Google to find "free, safe porn websites". I've been watching porn on computers for as long as I can remember, and I haven't gotten a virus from one.

As Shannon said, we unfortunately cannot give them. I even know some, some that are promising of consensual adults, safe for your computer, and you can even find special ones such as only vegans and such. I know, right? Crazy stuff. I don't watch porn personally, but I found this and thought it was really cool. Honestly, do some research. I'm so sorry we cannot tell you, I don't want to cause you to go google it and get a virus, but it's just against our Code of Conduct.

Depending on what virus protection you have, it'll warn you before you go to an infected website. I know AVG does it and possibly Kaspersky.

I'm 95% sure I read a thread about two years ago where people talked about what sites they used to watch porn. That's how I found safe ones to see what all the fuss was about.

Honestly, if you just make up a website name with the word "porn" in it, it's likely to exist. There are hundreds. But Google is the best you can do just now, as long as you make sure all your security is up to date and such. I'd also scan your computer for stuff afterwards as well just to be on the safe side.

It may; it may not. No "virus protection" is perfect.

Also, not just AVG and Kaspersky, most antivirus programs nowadays come with both active and passive protections (granted, some of them are free while others are not). Giving credits to only two programs for this feature is rather unfair.

Just a note on malware (malware is a general term that includes virus, spyware, adware, trojan, keylogger, worm, etc. ):

Even if the site itself is safe and the owner of the site have no intention of infecting your computer with malware, the advertisements on it might not be safe and carry malware. Keep this in mind,

==============================

Edit:

Forgot to mention something, this method is not 100% reliable, but you can use Google's Safe Browsing Tool to help determine whether a site is safe or not:

google.com/safebrowsing/diagnostic?site=InsertDomainNameHere
For example, if I would like to check whether TeenHelp is safe, I would copy and paste this into my address bar and add teenhelp.org into it:
google.com/safebrowsing/diagnostic?site=teenhelp.org

You can also use WOT (Web of Trust) to check for a website's reputation (again, not 100%): http://www.mywot.com/.

If all 4 tools--your default antimalware program, WOT, Google Safe Browsing tool, and your common sense--say that a website is safe, then it's probably is. If you must make it 5 tools, then Norton's Safe Web is another option. Or you can just ask others for their review/experience on the site (also work as a "fifth" tool, I guess).
