First time with boyfriend - March 27th 2012, 04:24 AM

Okay, so I have had sex before. But with another guy. And I'm not that experienced. My boyfriend is but not much. So I mean don't think that I mean like he's super experienced you know? I'm just worried I guess I won't be any good..

So what do I do?

COMMUNICATION.

Talk to him about your feelings. I understand why you're nervous, but just talk to him, and find out his preferences. He's probably nervous as well and wouldn't mind reassurance. It's also a good time to talk about your chosen birth control method and logistics, so just talk!

It's a common fear to think that you might not be any "good" your first time with someone new. The thing is, focusing on how good you are or not is only going to stress you out more and make things much less enjoyable...for both of you.

Either way, this is a new person. It's not going to be 100% perfect the first time around. Each guy is different, and you will have to get used to your new boyfriend's particulars on top of what you already know.

So, you can always ask him about what he likes to save yourself some pressure, but if you just want to have fun, relax, do what feels natural to you, and have a good time. The rest will come in time.

The first time with someone new is always going to be awkward. You don't know what he's like, he doesn't know how you act, it's just a learning process. Don't be afraid to ask him what he does like & don't be afraid to tell him what you like. It's completely natural to feel nervous, so don't worry about that. The more you two have sex, the easier it will be & the more comfortable you'll feel. No matter what though, it will be okay. Don't sit there and over-think before going into it. Everything will work out. =)

Condom! Make sure that conversation includes the need for a condom and make sure he's got one on if you proceed.

Trust me, he's not going to care how "good" you are right away. He's just going to be grateful that you're going for it. But like the others said, safe sex and birth control. Otherwise it's not freaking worth it.

My favorite read right now.
