Question About The Pill - April 15th 2012, 04:14 PM

Hey there, just wanted to ask a quick question about the pill. I was just wondering if it is safe to have sex right after I'm done with the 7 day break (my period) if I've been taking them properly? Or do I have to wait another 7 days once I start a new cycle? Oh, and I'm taking Aviane if it makes a difference.

Sorry if this question has been answered but I can't find any responses (not even on the pill pamphlet!), and thanks for any answers

You're still protected, as long as you haven't missed any or taken them late.

You'd still be protected, although I would always recommend using a condom when in doubt. Only way to be protected against STIs as well.

As the other posters have said, you would still be protected. If you're ever unsure what the pill covers & which days to take it, typically they come with a little booklet that gives that type of information or you can call your pharmacist as well.

Question About The Pill - April 16th 2012, 09:19 PM

Hey there,

I'm taking Aviane birth control and I was wondering if it's considered safe to have sex right after after you finish your period and start a new pill cycle. I'm not completely sure because the pamphlet tells me that when a pill is missed I should wait 7 days, but I don't know if that applies to after periods if I've been taking my pill properly. I'm planning to have sex on the 3rd day of my new cycle. Sorry if it's been posted before, I can't find the answer to this question (not even on the pamphlet). Thanks

You are perfectly okay. The chances of you becoming pregnant are low during that time since an egg has already been released during your period, considering if an egg was released at all (when you're on the pill, you normally don't ovulate).

Hey there SomebodyYouDon'tKnow,

I've merged both your threads together as they were pertaining to the same question. If you feel as though you need to add more information just edit your post or create a new post on the same thread. Having many threads for the same topic can be misleading and hard to follow.
