One of those things where you KNOW, but you don't... - May 17th 2017, 11:38 AM

tl;dr
2/20 - last sexual encounter; unprotected, pulled out
2/24 - period
3/22 - period
4/18 - period
5/14 - projected start date, no period
5/17 - all physical and emotional premenstrual symptoms have come and gone but no period

Food aversions
Cravings
Swollen and tender breasts (one being much more so than the other)
Change in body odor (heightened sense of smell?)
Loss of appetite but no noticeable nausea and no vomiting
No noticeable change in appearance

I haven't been under any exceptional stress. Not sick. No new meds. Questionable diagnosis of ovarian cysts last summer. I've never missed a period, ever, in nine years. I've been several days early and late before, but I'm normally regular. I've had a 23-day cycle and a 32-day cycle but I normally fall between 26-29. This is day 29, 30 according to my tracker. I don't feel like I'm about to start. I don't feel right.

There's no way, right?

Have you taken a pregnancy test? Because that would easily give you your answer.

I'm broke and stepmom won't buy one until I'm five days late. Go ahead and close this thread. Doesn't look like it's gonna give me much help.

EDIT: I'm very sorry Lizzie. I've had a train wreck of a morning and it's barely noon but I shouldn't take it out on anyone else. My stepmom will buy me a test today and I'll update this when I get the results.

If she doesn't end up getting you a test there are women's clinics that provide free testing. Just do an internet search for your local area and I bet something comes up!

I agree with Lizzie, a pregnancy test is the only way to know. However, I would try not to worry. If you've had three periods between the last time you've had sex and now, then it doesn't seem likely that these symptoms that you are having are from pregnancy. Sure, those can technically be breakthrough bleeding during pregnancy, but that's not entirely likely. If you've had ovarian cysts, period fluctuations would also be fairly normal.

Take a test, and even if it's negative, I'd recommend you try to see a doctor if you can afford it. First, you can talk to them about birth control options if you are not interested in getting pregnant right now. Second, you can talk about these symptoms and see if there's something wrong. You ended your post with, "I don't feel right" and even if you're not pregnant, something else may be up, and you deserve support for whatever it may be.

Good luck! Keep us updated.

Test was negative. If no period by Friday I suppose I'll test again but I had doubts before and I doubt it even more now. Just freaked me out. Thanks ladies. Can you keep this thread open until Friday if I test that day, and if it's negative, then close it, please?

A negative test at the point in your cycle is almost certinally correct. I would not stress about it!

I guess I don't need to reply to this since you got your period! There's never a time when a girl wants her period more than when she's worried. If that makes sense
