Joseph Anthony was born on October 30, 2009 at 1:11 PM.
He was 6lbs 7oz and 18 1/2 inches long. He is doing really well, and everything looks really good. He did fail his hearing test but the hospital said it was common because of stuff getting in the ears during delivery and such.. We go back in a week to get him tested again. I was in labor for over 15 hours. I was stuck at an 8 FOREVER and would not progress. Finally after given pitocin I went to a 9 1/2 and got stuck again, so they stretched my cervix to 10. I got an epidural that worked TOO WELL and could not feel the pressure so that I knew when to push. Well, they shut off the epidural and it took 1.5 hours in order for me to feel the pressure. So, after that I was pretty much good to go. But I did have to have a little help from a vaccuum to get his head out. I tore a little below my clitoris and got a couple stitches. But, I wasn't lucky enough to get away that easy! I apparently have a spinal headache, or in other words my spine is leaking fluid and it will need a few days to heal up. In the meantime when I stand up or sit up I will get a major headache and a lot of pressure around my neck. Luckily pain medicine makes it bearable so that I can get up and move around. But, if it gets too bad once I lay down it goes away pretty much instantly, sometimes it will take a few minutes. But, other than that I am pretty much painless except a little soreness down below. I am supposed to drink lots of caffeine, as it helps. If it doesn't go away in a couple days or gets worse I have to go to the hospital and get a repeat epidural done where they will take blood and put it in my spine in order to heal up where the leak it coming from. I am hoping I don't have to do that. I would not have been able to have my son if I hadn't gotten the epidural, so it really could not have been avoided. I am not a labor person, and never will be. Lol. Will post pictures later! Single Mommy since July 2011   my back-to-back babies are 1 year, 1 week and 1 day apart. |
