Hey,
A lot of medications, especially those of the mood-altering kind, can cause harm to an unborn child. These chemicals can go straight to the developing brain and cause retarded growth, as well as an array of other issues.
I highly reccomend discussing what medications you are currently taking with your doctor, should you suspect that you are pregnant.
Take care.

in a long time,
I can say that I wanna try.
I feel helpless for the most part,
but I'm learning to open my eyes.
And the sad truth of the matter is,
I'll never get over it,
but I'm gonna try
to get better and overcome each moment
in my own way"

Some medication has the risk of hurting the baby, this is something you really would have to talk about with your doctor. You'd have to weigh the risks of being on or off your medication while pregnant, and if it's decided that you stay on your medication they might try a lower dose or a different medication that poses less of a risk.

On your first prenatal appointment, your doctor will usually ask what medications you're taking and, from there, discuss which ones are safe and which ones aren't.

I was watching I am pregnant ... and Bipolar on Discovery Health and the woman on there had to go off some of her medications, but was allowed to take some medications. I do not know for sure on what medications you can/cannot take but your doctor would most likely work that out with you down to the last detail.

Any medication that messes with brain chemicals, including anxiety/depression medications, are potentially harmful to an unborn child. But as always, do consult your doctor on them just to be sure.
