breaking the news to your parents... -
January 25th 2010, 11:05 PM
Here's my situation: I found out yesturday at 3:34 that I was pregnant. My boyfriend/fiance was with me when I found out and we had a few minutes of crying and freaking out. We each called a brother and sister and talked about it until I had to go to work.
Today I went to planned parenthood and had it confirmed that I am pregnant and I set up an appointment to go to my obgyn wednesday at 10:30. We've talked about it, and we think we're going to keep the baby. However, here's the really really hard part. Talking to my mom. She got pregnant at age 17 and she's tried very hard in my life to prevent this. But what's happened has happened, and I have to deal with this. How did you tell your parents? What were their reactions? Any responses are welcome. |

Honestly, they were upset. But you still have to tell them. Unfortunately, there is no easy way. You're just going to have to say it.
Good luck. Taking care of a baby is the most difficult thing I've done in my life. Words on a computer screen aren't going to mean anything to you until you experience it, though. Best wishes and good luck. Previously Mommy.Wife.Student |

My parents were thrilled, but then again I was in a completely different position where my husband and I were trying...
I suggest you just be honest and come out to your mom about it, if she started as a young parent she should be understanding and realize that you need her support now more than ever. I hope everything goes well. Best of Luck! ![]() "When it comes down to it I let them think what they want, if they care enough to bother with what I do then I'm already better than them." I was 19 when I got pregnant, and 20 when I had my son.
And I was also in a different position.. Had a decent paying job, my own place etc. We ended up calling MY dad and telling him.. We called his mom and told her... But for my mom it was a bit tricky, as my older brother had recently had a daughter at the time, and he was also young. We got her a nice card that said something like "Congrats Grandma" and wrote in it, something along the lines of "Since you already know, we thought we'd make it official." (Yes my mom found out through my older brother because I was so obviously sick right away it was rather hard NOT to know lol) We also bought her a diamond necklace and gave it to her at the same time with the card, to make her feel special and also link her to our then unborn son. .:6:21 a.m.:. .:12-01-2007:. .:Logan Jacob:. I just told my parents Tuesday night that I was.
And my boyfriend/Fience was with me, they were a little upset but, my mom said that its my life, and if me and him are ready for a baby, then go for it. We've talked about adpotion, and that's just NOT a choice for me, its my baby, and im going to be in my babys life. just go and tell your mom, like everyone else has said, she had you at a young age, she'll understand. -Best Of Luck Levi Houston Nave,

Heck, telling your parents is one of the hardest things ever.
It was kinda easy for me. I had been having bad stomach pains so my now ex bf wanted me to see a doctor... which i did. I was given a pregnancy test .. and got a call from the nurse who said "Its positive" I was shaking and put my hand to my mouth. After i got off the phone i looked at him and said "We have a problem!" He said "I knew as soon as you put your hand to your mouth".. Then came the part where i had to tell my mother.. Instead of telling her face to face i called her and said "Its positive" Her first reaction was "ARE YOU SERIOUS!".. "OH MY GOD SAMANTHA!" freaking out.. But now that everyone .. and i mean everyone knows.. everything is fine. I'm actually glad i didn't do it face to face, even the thought of doing that scares me. lol idk why. Good luck tho. |
