Birth control pills -

I am in my first month of using sprintec BC pills and I have been taking them everyday at the same exact time ( i have an alarm) .. I was wondering though, I have taken all the blue pills, and yesterday was the first day taking the last week white pills. Is the white pills when I should expect my period? What if it doesn't come, should I be concerned??

You would normally expect your period during the last week of pills sometime, yes. If you don't get your period within that time, take a pregnancy test. But if you're taking the pills every day at the same time, you shouldn't even have to worry about that.

I'm not on the same pills as you, but when I've finished my hormone ones, I don't start my period until 5 days afterwards, so don't worry if it doesn't come straight after you start taking the white pills. If you don't have a period then it could be something to worry about as that is the main indicator of pregnancy. But just make sure you keep taking them at the same time every day as it's so easy to forget.

I've been taking birth control for 3 years now, and it is not uncommon for women to experience no periods for even up to a few months because the body is adjusting to the pill.

No, especially if it's your first month. I'm guessing the white pills are the equivalent of the 7-day 'break'?¿ It'll take your body a little while to settle down and get used to the pill, so I wouldn't worry about it too much. It might even end up that your period doesn't always start on the first day of the white pills ~ I finish my pill on a Sunday night and I don't get my period til the next Thursday, and it's been like that since I started ten months ago.

But I did have one question that I forgot to add :I had an abortion dec 31- jan 1st. Would this have an effect on if my period didn't come? I know I read that a preg test can come out positive 8 weeks after having one. Im kinda nervous! More like a lot nervous actually ! i was on sprintec lol i got pregnant.. bc just likes my body lol ne way.. if its ur first month.. ur period may b kinda screwy lol
im on mirena now and ive been bleeding since new years eve.. thats when they put it in.. so.. yea it may b late from ur BC lol hormonal imbalance lol    |
