I've heard a lot of mixed reviews about mirena... one thing I heard is that you may have quite a bit of spotting after having it put in. You may want to call and just let them know. They may want you to go ahead and come in or something. If you haven't had a really steady constant flow you might want to wait a bit longer and see if it happens... how long ago was it put in? It took me about two and a half months to have a period after my son.
I chose Depo after my son, and its turned out pretty good. The first few weeks are an adjustment (bleeding and out of whack emotions lol) but now I really love it. When reality is a prison, your mind can set you free. |

It might just be your body adjusting to the hormones. With any hormonal birth control (which mirena is) it takes your body on average anywhere from 3 - 9 months of adjusting to the hormone levels. With something like the Mirena which is good for 5 years, I would let your body's hormone levels kind of level out before removing it. Everyone's bodies are different, My older sister has Mirena and other than the light spotting right after inserting it, she has had absolutely no bleeding, she has had it for several months now. I would love to have it but with my prolapse being so bad, its not an option for me until I get the surgery to fix the prolapse.
