fear of loosing a kid - February 6th 2010, 11:23 PM

I know this may sound strange but here goes. I dont have a gf or any kids at the moment but i already have a big fear of loosing a kid. I just dont think i could ever cope with something like that, if a future gf of mine ever has a misscarage i would be ripped apart in seconds.

I really need some help with this.

I think it is kinda normal to feel that.I know that i am worried right now if i get my tubes tied and then get them untied that i wont be able to have anymore babies. If a gf of yours in the future ever has a miscarriage i know it would be hard i know it was hard on me and my bf but we talked about it and yes i took a long time to get over but you just have to go with the roll if you know what i mean. But for right now if i was you just focus on your life right now and try not to think about it the more you think about it the worse it will get you

I have that fear as well. I'm the kind of person that is pessimistic and always looks at the negitive things in certain situations so i definatly know where your coming from.

its a completely natural feeling, just like the idea of losing your parents/bestfriend death is a scary thing to think about and have to deal with.

Hey there,

It's completely normal that you would have this fear. I think that it stems from your loving personality; you already realize how much you would love your child, so of course the thought of losing that child would be quite frightening.

Just remember that miscarriages are not necessarily common, and try to remain optimistic.

Take care.

It's not weird, I've also thought about that. Like... What if my child is deformed or turns out mentally challenged? It's scares me as well and is normal. You're just thinking about the future.

If in the future you are worried, there are tests that the doctor can do for your wife to see if there's a chance something bad could happen.
