Birth control pill and heartburn & a few questions! - February 10th 2010, 11:55 PM

So I know many people are against abortions and I feel embaressed to come out in the open about this whenever I do..

So I had a medical abortion on dec 31st- january 1st.
Okay so I know this was my stupid mistake but a week after I stopped bleeding my bf and I had intercourse even though they said I shouldnt because of chance of infection. I did not get a infection. I am wondering if there could be increased fertility after I got that done? I went through a whole pack of sprintec BC pills and did not get my period. I am now on my second pack of sprintec in the 2nd week of them and still no sighn of my period.. :/

I am wondering if Birth control pills could possibly cause heartburn?? I have had wicked bad heart burn these past few days..today being the worse of it. I know before I knew I was preg I had heartburn, and I don't usually get heartburn..I mean once In a great while I will but not usually. Im so worried that I could be again.. hopefully my body is just messed up because of everything its been through the past few months.. and perhaps my hormones are going crazy and just getting used to the BC? Any input on this, or anyone who has had a similar situation??
SOO nervous !

You should test. If you had unprotected sex, no matter when it was, there's a chance that you're pregnant.

My problem is that in this pamphlet i have about medical abortions... it says a preg test can be positive for up to 8 weeks after you got it done. So this is where I am stuck.. or else I would have tested already.. so nervous ahhh!

Well, in that case, you should go in and get a blood test done. A blood test will be able to measure the level of the hormone in your system and the doctor should be able to then tell you whether or not you're pregnant again.

If you just had an abortion, schedule an ultrasound or blood test with your doctor.

In addition to all that was said, check the birth control you are taking. It may be having side effects on you such as the heart burn.
