only calms down to swaddling... - February 18th 2010, 08:09 PM

ok when my son gets in a hissy fit after ive tried everything else the only thinkg that calms him down is swaddling him but he hates having his feet covered we can only have shoes/sox/booties ne thing on him for a little while b4 he starts flipping out.. he dont even like the footed sleepers... help??

Leave his feet out when you swaddle him? I guess that is technically not swadling, but it could work ...

Ha, my son hates having his arms tucked anywhere so we don't swaddle that often anymore. He loves his hands.

They make sleepers that are open at the bottom, or that are kind of like bags... you could try those. Being winter, he should really have something on his feet to keep him warm. You can try just not swaddling his feet and legs as tight.

We had to quit for the same reason lol. His little arms popped out after a couple minutes (or seconds) every time.

Cut the feet off of footie pjs.
Get the blanket sleepers (yes his feet will still be covered but he'll be able to move them around freely inside of the sleeper)
or just wrap his upper body and legs up.
