OMG! Not again.... Its only been Two weeks

Me and the Ex boyfriend (My babies dad) last night had a really good night, staying in with Alex like a family,it was perfect....

....then it went abit too far and becuase we are so used to doing it without a condom and stuff...... and i only realised afterwards that it was too late... he said not to worry and it takes 6 weeks to get pregnant again...

so why does my midwife tell me not too have sex right after birth, Its only been two weeks !!!!!!!!!!

According to several websites - it's also quite dangerous for the guy to perform oral sex ['cunnilingus'] on a girl who recently gave birth. The blood vessels in the vagina, etc., are very delicate and if air were to get into the blood stream it could cause very serious - as in sometimes fatal - consequences. Pretty scary thought, eh? That's what I was thinking.

I strongly suggest you talk to your doctor about all of this - as soon as you can.

Few things in life can scare us more than not knowing the facts.

You can definitely get pregnant 2 weeks after giving birth. I've known girls who go in for their 6 week check-up and are pregnant again already.

Are you breastfeeding? Because doctors say if you are exclusively breastfeeding (nothing else, not even pumping) supposedly you don't ovulate... I don't know how true it is though.

The reason you midwife told you not to have sex for six weeks is because you can get a really bad infection because your body is still healing from labor. Labor causes a lot of trauma to your body, and it needs that time to recover.

You CAN get pregnant RIGHT after giving birth.
That's why they say wait 6 weeks, go in for your check up and get on birth control.
You're in very very very serious danger of being pregnant and you NEED to talk to your doctor and get tested in a few weeks.
Until that time, use protection or don't have sex.

Also, you CAN get pregnant while breastfeeding.

go see your doctor or get the plan b i had sex a month after my son was born got pregnant then lost the baby its really hard to deal with especially after just having a baby go to your doctor asap

Yes, you can get pregnant that soon. And you can get a really nasty infection if you don't wait until your doctor gives you the go-ahead for sex. But a lot of people don't wait. I didn't... Just keep a close eye on things so you can get to the doctor is something doesn't seem right.

But, yes, after you have a baby, you're actually the most fertile.

This is not true. Yes you can get pregnant after two weeks and while breastfeeding.

Its ridiculous that I've heard breastfeeding makes you not ovulate from so many sources, even my own doctor, when its obviously not that reliable. My doctor was even trying to push it on me as my primary source of birth control.

I was mainly just mentioning it if in her case it may have prevented a pregnancy. Wasn't trying to make it sound like its ok to have unprotected sex while breastfeeding.

yes. you can get pregnant two weeks after having a baby. my best friend was pregnant again two weeks after she had my god daughter, and miscarried at 10 weeks. the reason they tell you not to have sex for 6 weeks is so that you dont damage anything up in there. if you really think about, your body goes through a lot of damage after a delivery. the 6 weeks gives you time to heal. but yes, pregnancy is possible after a delivery. even as early as two weeks. be careful. sex before you heal can cause a lot of problems, and infections. not good honey. just be real careful

Well hon, I had unprotected sex before I was on birth control after having my son and I didn't get pregnant. So, it that makes you feel any better. Although it is very possible, and more likely after having a baby.
