how long is the wait time after a shot of depo? - March 19th 2010, 04:07 PM

I was told that if you do'nt take the birth control shot regularly it won't take 3mos-1 year to get out of your system its actually shorter. Would anybody know how long it takes? Because it seems like as soon as I was supposed to take my second dose around 28 I ended up with a prego belly which i'm almost 90% sure that's what it is I'm just double checking

It really depends on the person to be honest. I read that some women have gotten pregnant while on the shot... some have pregnant immediately after stopping... some try for years to have a baby with no luck. I'd say the chances are pretty slim that you are pregnant, but hey its happened. You should really just go get a blood test done. If you do some research online I bet you could find a place that does it very cheap, or for free.

I'm just getting mixed crap about how long it lasts. Planned parent hood said person on one dose should take 1-3 months (which would make more sense for pregnancy as I am) as for my dietary consultant friend who talked to the diatary women in the pregnancy place said it'll take a year.
